Sometime soon (and by soon I mean before next season) David Kahn will cash in all of the chips that he has at his disposal to acquire a significant piece of his championship puzzle. So I was wondering what it would take to make you feel that he successfully accomplished this task? Below I've listed six categories of players that I would like to see Kahn add via trade or free agency.

While most of these players would most likely never be available, I've included them as a reference for the rest of the players listed.

1. Acquire at almost any cost: LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Deron Williams

2. Don't give up too much, but make the move if they're available: Brandon Roy, Brook Lopez, Andrew Bynum, OJ Mayo, Danny Granger

3. Not the final piece, but still potential all-stars: Andre Iguodala, Joe Johnson, Rudy Gay, Kevin Martin

4: Good players that would fit well here: Luol Deng, Josh Smith

5. Prospects that would most likely never be available: Thaddeus Young, Danilo Gallinari, Eric Gordon, James Harden, Michael Beasley, Greg Oden, Anthony Randolph

6. Role players that would look nice on the Wolves: Joakim Noah, Tyrus Thomas, Chris Kaman, JR Smith, Courtney Lee, Rudy Fernandez, Jeff Green, Tayshaun Prince, Kelenna Azubuike

If Kahn has a goal of acquiring one player to be either the first or second option on this team, they better be from one of the first five categories, and I'd be disappointed if they were below category three. Our combination of cap space, expiring contracts, draft picks and prospects should be enough to make a move for almost any player in the league and it's just up to Kahn to decide who the right one is.

What say you? How far down on the list of top players would you go before being disappointed in David Kahn?

He needs somebody from Category 1 and somebody from Category 2, and we're good. It would also be nice to see somebody from Category 6, like J. Noah, JR Smith, or C. Lee.

Wow. I have a feeling that if that's what you're expecting you'll most likely be very disappointed. That would be awesome, no doubt, but I doubt any of the players from the top two tiers are going to be available to the Wolves, let alone two of them. Personally, I'm hoping for one player from the 3-4 range and another from the 5-6 range ... but even that seems far fetched.
